· Spreading the Entrepreneurial Mindset,
· Nurture and Facilitate Convening and Networking,
· Community Engagement,
· Growing Start-Ups and Local Business.
The PDC approaches these areas through the Student Ambassador Program, the B4Change Accelerator, Funding Programs and Community Program Sponsorship. Not only do they have a large impact on the University of New Brunswick community, they heavily impact New Brunswick and the Atlantic Canada region.

Saint John Community Loan Fund

The Saint John Community Loan Fund promotes investment in the community and in people. Through micro-financing, it helps individuals create income, build assets, and attain greater self-reliance by providing: business loans, employment loans, affordable housing loans, non-profit loans, financial literacy training, community leadership training, enterprise development, youth entrepreneurship, and a matched savings program.
To date, the Loan Fund has used their investments to make approximately 230 loans, generating a value of $370,000. Not only has this money allowed various initiatives to flourish, they’ve allowed individuals and families to become more self-reliant without dependence on Provincial Income Assistance. This has a major impact on the entire community.

"The Fredericton Makerspace Group is a non-profit social enterprise incorporated in July of 2013 by a small group of local 'Makers' with a common goal: create a setting which fosters learning, creativity, and collaboration. Our mission is to provide an informal venue for sharing real-world skills, creative experimentation, hands-on learning, and community access to the tools and technology to apply these skills for personal and professional growth" (Fredericton Makerspace, 2015).
Within the Makerspace, there is an area for 3D printing, electronics, building toys, woodworking, screen-printing, and other books and resources to learn more!

CECNB also works closely with government and key stakeholders to bring about new programs, resources, and policies that support healthy, sustainable communities” (CECNB 2015).
