The Pond-Deshpande Centre is bridging the gap between challenges facing social entrepreneurs (lack of funding resources, lack of connections, lack of support network) and the creation of sustainable, scalable social enterprise. The B4 Change Accelerator gives entrepreneurs real life experience of testing those ideas out. The program runs between September and May, and is currently being revamped to be more inclusive of all social ventures at any stage of development. It is open to anyone from the Atlantic Canada region, however the various workshops and events will be predominantly hosted in New Brunswick.

Foundry is your chance to finally test out that business idea you've been sitting on. It allows participants to test-drive entrepreneurship in a supportive and low-risk setting. Through coaching, classes, startup capital, and community support, Foundry assembles the ingredients to help you take an idea to market. We walk you through the steps of launching your own business. Participants are given the chance to test out their innovative ideas within a low-risk environment. Any individual or team of up to 3 people aged 19+ with a basic business idea can take part. There is no set number of teams selected each year, the cohort selection is based on the quality of applications. This takes place between the beginning of May and the end of July at the University of New Brunswick campus, but includes several trips around the New Brunswick province. Applications involve meeting with someone from the Summer Institute, submitting a written application and having an interview.
